Celebrating eternal life through the legacy of Michael David Gira Jr. (11/25/1971 -12/17/2023)

Many celebrated the life of my husband, who is also a beloved father, son. brother, uncle, and friend on January 6, 2024. The celebration of life was held at Haymount United Methodist Church in Fayetteville N.C. This church was our home and he proudly served there for 8 years in his ministry career. The link to the service can be found on the church's Facebook here: https://fb.watch/q3JW-8zpsg/?mibextid=rS40aB7S9Ucbxw6v

In addition to his own book, "How Cancer Cured Me", David participated as an author with Cancer Companions. In collaboration with other cancer survivors and caretakers, he wrote multiple devotionals for a larger collection of 365:"Daily Reflections from Inside the Cancer Journey." These devotionals started January 1, 2024. As someone who found joy in bringing comfort to other cancer patients and their families, he held this project near and dear to his heart. A link to the website and devotionals is below. You can sign up for free to have the daily devotionals sent to your phone via text message to read. This a way you can honor his life and ensure meaning in the lives of so many who have been affected by cancer. You can also donate to Cancer Companions so that the messages of hope can continue for all who are affected by cancer.

While our family is heartbroken and grieving, we want to keep his legacy alive by sharing an update all on his writings posthumously so that we all can honor him in this capacity.

The Gira Family will continue to update the blog post as we continue to discover the many writings and projects he was working on. We will ensure the completion of these as these were considered gifts we are still discovering each day. We are given comfort and peace by these writings and want this to be shared to all who want to bear witness to David's kind words, actions, and love for all.

Corinthians 13: Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love.

Thank you to all who have been on this journey with us the last 7 years and beyond. The love, prayers, and support have truly been a witness to the life that David lead by following Christ.

With love,

Amy, Marcie, Hannah and Caleb Gira
